Toutle Lake 53, North Beach 39

Toutle Lake girls basketball coach Larry Hoff must have given one spectacular halftime speech. Whatever he may have said, his players responded. The Ducks scored the first 12 points of the second half and cruised past North Beach (19-8) in consolation action.

Senior guard Lindsay Scheffler scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lead Toutle Lake (17-9).

The Ducks nearly held the Hyaks scoreless in the third quarter, allowing a single 3-pointer late in the quarter to cut the deficit to nine heading into the fourth.

Junior Lacey Hoffmann added 13 points and seven rebounds and junior Denali Preston dished out a game-high six assists for Toutle Lake (17-9).

Senior Nicole Duncan scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed six rebounds as DeSales routed Bear Creek School in a consolation game.

Duncan shot 7 of 14 from the field, including 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.

The Irish got a lot of production from their reserves. The DeSales bench outscored the Grizzlies bench 16-0.

Junior Ashley Hamada added nine points and a game-high four assists for the Irish (24-2), who outscored the Grizzlies 29-17 in the second half.

Senior Jamie Perry tallied a team-high 18 points and junior Kimi Pohlman collected a game-high 17 rebounds for Bear Creek School (16-11).

Liberty was eliminated from the tournament after falling to Shoreline Christian.

Down 16 at halftime, the Lancers (24-4) made a valiant comeback effort, at one point cutting the lead to three, 52-49, with 48 seconds remaining.

Senior Julia DeKoekkoek scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds and senior Colleen Woods added 17 points to lead the Crusaders (22-3).

The Crusaders were 21 of 37 from the line while the Lancers were just 9 of 18.

Liberty senior guard Shawn Hennessey finished with 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc.

Senior Caitlin Jeske added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Lancers, who held a 45-33 edge in rebounds.

Liberty Bell 36, King’s West 35

With a little bit of luck and a good amount of courage and heroism, Liberty Bell avoided elimination. Down 32-20 entering the fourth quarter, the Mountain Lions clawed back and beat Kings West on a lay-in by freshman Shelby Scott as time expired in the fourth quarter in consolation action.

Scott finished with a team-high 11 points and Korrie Bourn, Kelli Campbell and Jillian Layfield each added eight for Liberty Bell (18-8).

The Mountain Lions held Kings West to three fourth-quarter points and Scott’s lay-in in transition sealed the win.

Chloe Mosey tallied a game-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who end their season with an 18-7 record.

Evergreen 63, Reardan 43

Evergreen Lutheran erased a 5-point halftime deficit in a big way in a quarterfinal with Reardan. The Eagles exploded for 46 points in the second half, holding the Indians to 21.

Cory Warner paced Evergreen (24-2) with 15 points and five assists, shooting 3 for 7 from 3-point range. Senior Erika Laete pulled down 14 boards.

But the story for Evergreen was its bench. Ashley Daniels and Jessica Ide both scored in double figures as the bench tallied 29 points for the game.

Jen Christerson led the Indians (19-10) with 14 points and six steals and Ashtin Jeney added 12 points.

A day after scoring 22 points, Jasmine Stohr again led LaSalle with 20 points in a quarterfinal game against Napavine. The junior was 9 of 12 from the line and swiped three steals.

LaSalle led 32-30 after three quarters before shutting down the Tigers offensively and mounting a 15-point lead.

Molly McGree posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds for LaSalle.

The game was won at the line for the Lightning (22-2) which went 20 for 34 as opposed to 8-of-17 for Napavine (23-1).

Alicia Richardson paced the Tigers with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and eight rebounds.

Two free throws by Laney Brown with 16 seconds left sealed a narrow victory for Waterville in a quarterfinal game with White Pass.

Waterville led 54-50 with 32 seconds to go when the Shockers missed two 3-point attempts. Brown came down with the second rebound and was fouled immediately.

At the other end, she made two of her 11 points to put the game away. Jacque Brown put in 23 points for Waterville (22-3) and Lauren Daling grabbed 17 rebounds.

For the Panthers (16-10), Mikel Elliott scored 17 points off the bench and sank four 3s.
