Dodgers 10, Astros 2: At Houston, Chad Billingsley threw a five-hitter for his first complete game, Jeff Kent had four hits and a pair of RBIs and Los Angeles beat the Astros. Billingsley took a shutout into the ninth and had two outs when Luke Scott hit a two-run homer.

Reds 2, Brewers 1 (12): At Cincinnati, Aaron Harang pitched 10 innings after returning from his grandfather’s funeral, and Javier Valentin’s RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning sent the Reds over Milwaukee. Cincinnati closer David Weathers pitched out of a bases-loaded, none-out threat in the 11th and Jared Burton got two outs in the 12th for the win.

Rockies 7, Padres 5: At Denver, Brad Hawpe’s 18th homer, a two-run shot off Cla Meredith, capped a five-run eighth-inning rally that carried Colorado past San Diego. Greg Maddux was in line for his 341st career win until Matt Holliday hit a three-run homer, his 17th, off right-hander Scott Linebrink with one out in the eighth, erasing a 5-2 deficit.

Diamondbacks 4, Marlins 3: At Phoenix, Orlando Hudson hit a two-run homer and Doug Davis scattered five hits over 6 2/3 innings to win his second straight decision as Arizona defeated Florida. Dontrelle Willis allowed four runs and lost his career-high seventh straight decision for the Marlins.

Braves 4, Giants 2: At San Francisco, Brian McCann hit a three-run double in the first inning and John Smoltz allowed two runs – one earned – and seven hits in seven innings as Atlanta defeated the Giants. Smoltz helped his own cause with a squeeze bunt up the first-base line in the fourth to make it 4-1.
