Wolves end Suns’ streak

The hard-driving Phoenix Suns finally hit a road block in Kevin Garnett.

Garnett almost single-handedly snapped the Suns’ 17-game winning streak, scoring 44 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in Minnesota’s 121-112 victory Monday night in Minneapolis.

The All-Star forward had 15 points in the fourth quarter and gave coach Randy Wittman a win in his home debut.

Bobcats 105, Nuggets 101: At Denver, Gerald Wallace scored 25 points in Charlotte’s win over the Nuggets. Charlotte trailed 97-94 when Wallace hit a free throw, Adam Morrison, who had 12 points, swished a 3-pointer from the top of the key and Wallace swooped in for a tip-in to give the Bobcats a 100-97 lead with 2:26 remaining.

Nets 116, Jazz 115: At Salt Lake City, Vince Carter made a long 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift New Jersey past Utah.

Hawks 93, Magic 83: At Atlanta, Joe Johnson had another high-scoring game against Orlando, putting up 34 points as the Hawks beat the Magic.

Hornets 103, Trail Blazers 91: At Oklahoma City, David West had 21 points and Jannero Pargo scored 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to help the Hornets beat Portland.

Grizzlies 124, Kings 117: At Memphis, Tenn., Pau Gasol scored 34 points and Mike Miller added 27 to lead the Grizzlies past Sacramento.

Rockets 105, 76ers 84: At Houston, Tracy McGrady scored 25 points before sitting out the fourth quarter and Rafer Alston had nine of Houston’s season-high 31 assists in the Rockets’ win over Philadelphia.

Around the league

The mother of four of former NBA star Latrell Sprewell’s children sued him for $200 million, alleging Sprewell broke their long-term cohabitation deal and roughed her up last month in their home in Purchase, N.Y. … Utah forward Carlos Boozer missed the game against New Jersey with a bruised left knee.
