Top 25 women: Colonials improve to 21-0 against Flyers

DAYTON, Ohio – Jessica Adair scored 18 points to help No. 11 George Washington continue its mastery of Dayton with a 70-57 victory over the Flyers on Friday night.

The Colonials (17-2, 6-0 Atlantic 10) improved to 21-0 all time against Dayton (7-12, 2-3) while running their season winning streak to 10 straight.

George Washington never trailed. Dayton kept it close early, pulling to 21-18 on a jumper by Nikki Oakland, but the Colonials scored six straight points and never led by fewer than six points the rest of the way.

The Colonials forced 25 turnovers that led to 24 points.

Adair, a 6-foot-4 center, and Whitney Allen each had five offensive rebounds as George Washington dominated the paint, scoring 48 points inside. Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored 16 points, Kenan Cole had 13 and Allen added 10.

Oakland was 8 for 9 from the field and finished with 17 points to lead the Flyers.

Jennifer Strong added 14 points.
