Idahoans advance on ‘American Idol’

Unless you were squinting, you probably missed Lindsey Tucker and her brother Ethan Miller on Wednesday’s “American Idol.”

But they were there, waving their golden tickets at the end of the show. The two North Idaho residents bested thousands and thousands of singers to make it to the Hollywood round.

Did they advance beyond that?

Nobody’s telling.

“We actually, right at this point, we can’t say anything,” Tucker said Thursday by phone from her home in Post Falls. “We signed like a $5 million contract” to keep quiet.

Tucker, 25, is a mother of three young children. Her brother Ethan is 17, living in Blanchard, Idaho.

They both attended the small private House of the Lord Christian Academy in Oldtown, Idaho. And they go to church at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls, where they lead youth services and, of course, sing.

Another Spokane woman also made it to the Hollywood round, Tucker said, though her name could not be confirmed. Although Tucker and Miller prefer Christian music, the brother-sister duo sang the Joss Stone hit “You Had Me” for their big Seattle tryout. They auditioned separately in Hollywood, Tucker said.

“It was fun. We had a blast,” Tucker said.
