Dear Heloise: I have a lot of stuffed toys. I put two of them at a time in a pillowcase (safety-pin closed – H) and then put them in the washer. They come out better than new. I just thought you might want this hint. – JoJo, via e-mail

Dear Heloise: I like my jeans to stay dark, and so to help them stay that way, I turn them inside out before washing them. I also use cold water! This seems to help. – Bianca Avery in Utah
