Young ones can join in the revelry

New Year’s isn’t just for grownups. Each year, First Night Spokane offers a variety of activities for revelers of all ages.

Tonight from 3 to 6 p.m., Avista will sponsor Kids Night Out at the Spokane Convention Center. Here are this year’s events:

•Chickee and Boom Boom (music), 3 p.m., main stage

•Rainbow Fiddle Kids (music), 3 p.m., Avista stage

•Louie Foxx (comedy) 3:30 and 4:30 p.m., main stage

•Avista energy conservation and safety program, 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., Avista stage

•Children’s Theatre Ballet (dance), 4 and 5:30 p.m., main stage

•Eric Herman and the Invisible Band (music), 4 and 5 p.m., Avista stage

•Brothers from Different Mothers (comedy), 5 p.m., main stage

At 6 p.m., join the Masquerade Parade from the Convention Center to Riverfront Park.

There are many other family-friendly events throughout the evening, including ice skating and Carrousel rides in Riverfront Park.

Children under 10 are admitted free to events when accompanied by an adult with a First Night button. Buttons are $12 in advance or $15 at the event.
