Hints from Heloise
Dear Heloise: I was reading your column in which you suggested adding aromatherapy to epsom salts to make a salt scrub. Can you tell me where I can buy aromatherapy? – Dorene Patterson, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Dorene, aromatherapy really means using essential oils as a beauty or healing component. They come in a variety of scents – some of my favorites are lavender, rosemary, geranium, peppermint, cinnamon, bergamot and eucalyptus. Essential oils usually can be found in many food stores and drugstores, as well as health-food and aromatherapy stores. You also can find them on the Internet, or call your pharmacist to see if they can be ordered.
Look for pure essential oils in brown or amber glass bottles, because the dark glass protects the oils from heat and light, which can rob the oil of its scent. Usually only a few drops are needed at a time, and a small bottle will last for quite a while, so buy the best quality you can.– Heloise
