Our Place anniversary

Our Place, a community assistance organization supported by seven West Central area churches, will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday.

There will be speakers, food, games for children and live music from 2 to 6 p.m. at Our Place, 1509 W. College Ave.

All the activities are free.

Our Place provides food, clothing, transportation and utility assistance to low-income people in the West Central neighborhood. It began when local churches decided to pool their resources to help poor residents.

The seven churches and private donations provide most of the funding for the organization, which helps about 15,000 people each year.

Everyone is invited to attend the celebration.
