Moye appointed to state Real Estate Commission
Gov. Chris Gregoire has selected Spokane real estate licensee Cate Moye to serve on the Washington Real Estate Commission as of Oct. 6. Her term will expire on Aug. 14, 2012.
Cate Moye has been with Windermere Real Estate since 1992 where she began her career in real estate as the sales manager for Windermere/North Wall Street. In 1995 she became managing partner for Windermere/Manito, and in 1998 Cate purchased Windermere/The Tupper Group, Inc. becoming the sole owner and designated broker.
In 2000 the company name was changed to Windermere/Valley, Inc. In October 2004, Windermere/Valley, Inc. moved into new and expanded offices in the Spokane Valley with 105 agents and in May of 2006 she opened a second office with 20 agents in Liberty Lake.
Prior to joining Windermere, Cate retired from a career in the film industry, serving as the general manager of Skywalker Sound, a division of LucasArts Entertainment Company. In her 12 years with Lucasfilm Ltd., Cate assisted with building the post production facility at Skywalker Ranch and establishing the creative staff and studios as a premier Academy Award-winning facility. In addition to managing the sound post production for Lucasfilm productions, she was responsible for marketing the facility to outside films, studios, producers and directors, as well as managing productions and the facility personnel.
Although born and raised in Spokane, Cate was accepted into the first class of girls at St. Paul’s School in Concord, N.H., a school that had been renowned for 125 years as a premier preparatory school for boys. Upon graduating with honors from St. Paul’s, Cate received her Bachelor in Music degree from the School for the Arts at Boston University, having pursued piano, harpsichord, composition and business.
In addition to her work with Windermere, Cate currently serves as the president of the Board of Trustees for The Spokane Symphony and recently served as the chair for the search committees of both the music director and executive director for the Spokane Symphony. She has also held the position of trustee for St. George’s School, the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, the Spokane Opera and currently holds the position of chair for the Endowment Campaign for Campbell House at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture.
Cate is the mother of two teenage girls and enjoys traveling with her family, music of all kinds, and running — she has a goal of completing her first marathon in 2007.
