Fruitland eliminates Badgers

Fruitland beat visiting Bonners Ferry 50-0 in a State 3A football game Saturday.

Fruitland built a 30-0 halftime lead and scored 20 more to end the game in the third quarter.

The Badgers finished the season 4-5.

Volleyball

Colfax beat Lakeside 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 15-8 in the championship game of the District 7 1A tournament and will be the No. 1 seed entering the regional tournament, which starts Saturday at Freeman.

Sadie Lazzarini led the champion Bulldogs with 22 kills and four aces, and Kinsey Doering added 23 assists. Lauren Mellor contributed nine blocks.

Kelly Tikker had 22 kills and 10 digs, and Lindsay Jelke added 32 assists and an ace to lead the Eagles.
