Christmas carols – from “Angels We Have Heard on High” to “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing” – remind us that the holiday message of peace and joy is traditionally spread by angels. If you’re a do-it-yourselfer, now you can add a lovely traditional touch to your own home with this simple and elegant Christmas angels project.

Traced from a reusable full-size pattern (so it’s easy to make as many as you choose), these majestic angels will proclaim the joy of the season to the whole neighborhood. They’re perfect for the yard, porch, roof or even inside the house.

The project is simple and inexpensive to build. First, transfer the pattern onto particle board or plywood (three will fit on one 4-by-8 sheet) and cut the figures out. Next, sand the edges, prime and paint. To finish, add a wooden stand or stake made from galvanized pipe, set up and enjoy.

The Christmas Angels plan, No. 852, is $9.95 and includes full-size traceable patterns, step-by-step directions with photos, a shopping list and cutting schedule and a toll-free help line for project questions.

A large outdoor Nativity Scene Display, No. 7, is $49.95 and includes posters for 14 figures (to mount on plywood) plus instructions for building a stable. In addition, a catalog picturing hundreds of do-it-yourself projects is $2, and a free Christmas brochure is available on request. Please include $4 for postage and handling (except catalog-only orders) and allow about two weeks for delivery.
