Injuries take some of shine off Cougs’ win
PULLMAN – The Cougars will be without starting defensive tackles Ropati Pitoitua and Aaron Johnson for at least two weeks after both were injured in the first quarter of Saturday’s win over Oregon.
Pitoitua suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain, which usually means a recovery period of at least four weeks, although an Apple Cup return is possible.
Johnson, also out with a sprain, could return on Nov. 11 at Arizona State.
WSU will also be without right guard Andy Roof of East Valley for at least two weeks, probably more, after the sophomore suffered a significant heel bruise and ankle sprain.
And the team’s top cornerback, Tyron Brackenridge, is questionable to play this week because of a hamstring injury.
