Free tool cleans Word revisions

The Spokesman-Review

How do I remove all signs of previous changes or revisions in a Word document I e-mail to someone?

Microsoft’s Word is often configured to store all previous remarks and revisions made in the document before being completed.

The solution is using Microsoft’s Hidden Data Removal Tool, a free download that is run off your computer to expunge all those earlier traces of editing.

The problem of prior changes can create all sorts of mayhem. If an attorney drafts a letter to a party in a lawsuit, but allows the Word document to track revisions, the edited remarks that can be made visible to the reader will reveal perhaps more than the attorney meant for that person to see.

It works on most versions of Word and also can be used to remove similar editing on Excel and Powerpoint files.
