Warriors sweep Knights

Kootenai battled through two tough sets before wrapping up the third in a 27-25, 28-26, 25-11 sweep over visiting Lakeside in an Idaho 1A District I playoff loser-out match.

Kendra Wilms led the Warriors (8-10) with a game-high 15 kills and added four digs. Teammate Christine Gimmeson contributed 27 assists and Hannah Nyrop landed six aces.

Davi Swan recorded six aces for the Knights (3-10) who saw their season come to an end.

Kootenai will play No. 1 seed Wallace in a semi-final contest on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Clark Fork.

“Brittnee Brown had 25 assists, three aces, and two blocks to help Gonzaga Prep (8-5, 7-3) sweep Rogers 25-16, 25-19, 25-8 in a Greater Spokane League match.

Candice Curley recorded five blocks for the Pirates (0-13, 0-10).
