People : Oh, Vinifer’s just whining again
Paging all tabloids: Be careful about what you write about Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston.
A London law firm issued a statement saying Vaughn plans to file legal complaints against a trio of tabs – the New York Post and the British-based Daily Mirror and The Sun – that reported he was seen kissing a “mystery blonde” at an Oct. 8 charity event in London and had called it quits with Aniston.
“Ms. Aniston and Mr. Vaughn had not ended their relationship either at the material time or since … The suggestion that he was having a passionate embrace and kiss, or has ever been unfaithful to Ms. Aniston, are false,” it said.
If no settlement is reached, the statement continued, the case “is expected to go to jury trial in London’s High Court” next year.
Aniston – who like Vaughn has dodged questions about their relationship – also confirmed their couplehood on “Oprah.”
Asked if she and Vaughn were “broken up,” Aniston replied, “No, no.”
Bobby’s just beginning to pay
It’s official: Whitney Houston is divorcing Bobby Brown.
The pop diva filed divorce papers this week, a month after filing for legal separation following a tumultuous 14-year marriage marked by drug arrests and stints in rehab.
She’s seeking custody of their 13-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
Meanwhile, after being threatened with arrest, Brown has paid up $11,000 in delinquent child support owed to a former girlfriend who’s the mother of his two other teenage children.
Let it be? No way
Lawyers for Paul McCartney said Wednesday that the former Beatle will “vigorously” defend himself against allegations made by his estranged wife, Heather Mills McCartney.
Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper reported details of an alleged court document in which Mills claims McCartney physically attacked her four times – including once while she was pregnant with their 3-year-old daughter, Beatrice, and a more recent incident where he stabbed her with a broken wine glass.
She also contends he forced her to cancel an essential operation because it clashed with holiday plans, and used drugs and alcohol excessively despite promising to quit.
Singing a different tune
Country singer Sara Evans‘ estranged husband, Craig Schelske, claims she’s waging a “false media campaign” by claiming he was abusive, alcoholic and unfaithful.
And the couple’s former nanny, Alison Clinton, is denying allegations that she and Schelske had an affair, saying he was “never more than an absolute gentleman with me.”
Hitting foggy bottom
A movie director charged with groping two women’s behinds in a bar received probation.
Vadim Perelman, who directed the 2003 film “House of Sand and Fog,” will have the charges dropped and his record cleansed if he stays out of trouble for two years.
