2007 U.S. Figure Skating Championship tickets on sale now!
Regional competitions have begun, kicking off the season for the competitors of the 2007 State Farm U. S. Figure Skating Championships.
On Saturday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. individual event tickets to the 2007 U.S. Championships went on sale to the public. Ticket prices range from $15 to $98 per ticket for events that still have tickets available. Events begin on Sunday, Jan. 21, with all novice short programs at the Spokane Convention Center, as well as a new twist this year: the junior ladies short program will open the competition at the Spokane Arena on Sunday evening. Six of the 22 individual events are already SOLD OUT, so fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets now.
Expected to compete in the event are 2006 Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen, 2006 World champion Kimmie Meissner, three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir, two-time World bronze medalist Evan Lysacek, two-time U.S. pairs champions Rena Inoue and John Baldwin, and 2006 Olympic ice dancing silver medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto.
As of press time tickets to each of the four senior free skates (finals) were still available. For fans looking for the best value, the All-Event Ticket Package and the Big 4 Ticket Package were also still available.
At $495, the All-Event Ticket Package provides a savings of $289 off purchasing tickets individually.
At just $298, the Big 4 Ticket package provides a $35 savings off purchasing the four finals individually and affords fans the opportunity to watch all of the country’s top figure skaters battle it out for gold, silver and bronze at the 88th U.S. Championships, which will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN2.
Ticket sales for the 2007 U.S. Championships are on track to break all previous records, including those set by Olympic-year U.S. Championships.
Based on current ticket sales, if the event were held today the attendance would top 95,000 spectators. With a little over three months remaining until the event, Spokane is on track to break the attendance record of 125,345 spectators, set in 2002 in Los Angeles.
