Eagles topple Vandals

Chrystal Johnson scattered the stat line with 13 kills, 19 digs and a pair of aces to lead Eastern Washington past Idaho 30-22, 30-22, 18-30, 30-28 in non-conference volleyball at Cheney.

Kerri Beck and Brittney Page led the Eagles (11-7) in the kills department, as the two landed 14 apiece.

Defensively, Eastern Washington led in the digs and blocks department. Mandy Daniels recorded a match-high 22 digs for the Eagles, who held a 73-57 advantage.

Eastern Washington also racked up 22 block assists and two solo blocks compared to the 10 and two from the Vandals (5-12). Stephanie Baker led the Eagles with seven block assists and one solo block.

Amanda Bowman led the Vandals with a team-high 20 kills. Debbie Pederson added 12 kills and hit .409 on the night.

Defensively, Stacy Sode led Idaho with 18 digs and Kelsey Yonker and Saxony Brown contributed with 11 and 10, respectively.
