NIC wins by forfeit

The North Idaho College women’s soccer team has been awarded a victory after Flathead Valley Community College forfeited Friday’s scheduled match because of a lack of eligible players.

Whitworth College senior Julie Lauterbach was named the Northwest Conference female runner of the week Tuesday after a come-from-behind victory in the Pacific Lutheran University Invitational last weekend in Tacoma.

She clocked the 1,500-meter course in 21 minutes, 58.8 seconds. The Pirates women won the team race as well.
