Whitworth had two of the top five finishers, including medalist Andrew Parrott, to win the Northwest Conference Washington Fall Men’s Classic golf tournament Monday at Spokane Country Club.

Parrott shot a 2-over-par 74 in the final round after a par 72 the day before at Deer Park Golf Club for a 146 and two-shot victory. The Pirates’ Jordan Carter was fifth at 153.

Whitworth had a 604-621 victory over Pacific Lutheran. The event included only the NWC’s Washington members.

In the companion women’s tournament, Puget Sound had the medalist, Emily Lau (161), and a 677-714 edge over runner-up Whitworth for the team title.

Whitworth’s Alicia Bratlien and Krystal Pitkonen shared fourth place at 173.

Idaho girls soccer

Rivals Coeur d’Alene and Lake City will get together Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene High School to decide a 5A state tournament representative after both won Region I openers at home Monday by shutouts.

Hailey Smith had two goals in CdA’s 7-0 victory over Post Falls.

Lake City got goals from four individuals in the first 25 minutes, then turned to its defense to throttle Lewiston 4-0.

Post Falls and Lewiston were eliminated.
