Friends of Joe Albi – The group supporting the stadium will meet to discuss city plans for the complex, 7 p.m. Tuesday at the West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt. (509) 475-4474.

Winter Festival – The annual event hosted at the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge includes elk tours, a presentation by the WSU Raptor Rehabilitation Program, refreshments and live music, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the refuge, located three miles south of Cheney on Cheney-Plaza Road. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds benefiting the environmental education programs on the refuge. Community sing-along – First Presbyterian Church will host its annual community performance of Handel’s “Messiah.” Rehearsal for singers will be 4 p.m. Sunday, followed by the concert with orchestra and soloists at 6 p.m., 318 S. Cedar. (509) 747-1058.

Engineers Forum of Spokane – Guest speaker Rev. Floyd Schneider of Plymouth Congregational Church will speak on “The Background of Islam: Its History and Where We Are Going,” noon next Monday at the Holiday Inn Airport, 1616 Windsor Drive. Lunch is $13. (509) 244-3467.
