2:30 p.m. Monday, county Elections Office, 1033 W. Gardner Ave. Board will examine problematic ballots from the Nov. 7 election to determine which ones should be counted.

3 p.m. Tuesday, county Elections Office. Board will certify Nov. 7 election.

Spokane City Council

3:30 p.m. Monday, Council Chambers, City Hall, briefing on Dec. 4 meeting and approval of routine items.

6 p.m. Monday, Council Chambers, City Hall, consideration of extension of contract with SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. for 13 months.

Spokane Valley City Council

6 p.m. Tuesday, City Hall, 11707 E. Sprague Ave. Meeting scheduled to include a report on public access television and a second reading on the city’s new right-of-way permitting process.

6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Decades Meeting Place and Banquet Room, 10502 E. Sprague Ave. Special meeting on a plan to redevelop Sprague Avenue, including discussion and public input on how the street should be designed.

Spokane County commission

9 a.m. Monday, commissioners’ briefing room, Spokane County Courthouse. Commissioners will discuss the 2007 county budget.

9:30 a.m. Tuesday, commissioners’ hearing room, Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway Ave. Agenda includes discussion about proposal to purchase 1,101 acres of land that includes Antoine Peak for the Conservation Futures program.

2 p.m. Tuesday, commissioners’ hearing room, Public Works Building. Commissioners will consider how much property tax to collect in 2007 and consider the agreement to purchase Antoine Peak.

5 p.m. Tuesday, commissioners’ hearing room, Public Works Building. Commissioners will consider the moratorium on residential construction in the West Plains that was approved by the board last month. They also will consider a proposal to move the county’s urban growth boundary to include land at 61st and Freya so that it can build a public pool at the site.

9 a.m. Wednesday, commissioners’ briefing room. Commissioners will discuss the 2007 county budget.

10 a.m. Thursday, commissioners’ briefing room. Commissioners will discuss the 2007 county budget.

4 p.m. Thursday, commissioners’ hearing room, Public Works Building. Commissioners will discuss the Geiger spur, a railroad line the county owns on the West Plains.
