Media overplay 9/11 anniversary

The Spokesman-Review

9/11 was a tragedy. I agree that people who lost their lives that day should be remembered. I also believe that we should not overdose our media with remembrances.

The victims should be remembered, but I know if I died in a terror attack, I would not want to be remembered like this. It is my conclusion that the people who died five years ago would not want to be remembered like this; their faces plastered all over the news media.

All this media attention does is show what an impact Bin Laden had on us. Yes, it was horrible what they did, but I feel that all this does is add fuel to the terrorist cause and inspire them more.

I guess what I’m saying is, it is good to remember, but don’t glorify this tragedy.
