Lake City beats Meridian

No. 1- ranked Lake City (11-0) beat defending 5A state champion Meridian (7-4) 31-7 in the semifinals of the state tournament Friday in Coeur d’Alene.

Timberwolves quarterback Garren Hammons ran for 141 yards and scored twice on the ground.

B.J. Palmer added 105 yards on 18 carries for Lake City, which rushed for 297 total yards.

Lake City will take on Highland (10-1) Friday in the state championship game at the University of Idaho’s Kibbie Dome.
