Orioles 7, Angels 6: At Anaheim, Calif., Melvin Mora and Javy Lopez each went 3 for 5 with an RBI double, Miguel Tejada had a two-run single and Baltimore rallied to snap the Angels’ season-high four-game win streak.
Yankees 6, Royals 5: At New York, Johnny Damon hit a leadoff home run and Alex Rodriguez had a two-run single to highlight a five-run first inning as the Yankees held on to beat Kansas City.
White Sox 7, Blue Jays 5: At Toronto, Jermaine Dye and Rob Mackowiak homered to help Chicago beat the Blue Jays and avoid a three-game sweep. Lyle Overbay homered twice for Toronto.
Red Sox 5, Devil Rays 4: At Boston, Tim Wakefield pitched eight shutout innings and Willie Harris threw out the tying run at the plate to end the game as the Red Sox held off Tampa Bay. Mark Loretta drove in three runs and extended his hitting streak to 13 games for Boston.
Rangers 4, Athletics 3: At Arlington, Texas, Jason Botts hit his first career home run and Ian Kinsler drove in a run with a broken-bat grounder that pushed Texas to a win over Oakland.
