Many offices, services closed for holiday

Many government offices and other services will be affected by the Memorial Day holiday Monday. Among them:

“Public schools: Closed.

“Mail: No window service or delivery. Box service will be provided at the Riverside post office and Liberty Lake post office. Special delivery service and Express Mail services will be provided on a normal weekday schedule. Other post offices closed.

“Buses: Spokane Transit Authority will operate on its holiday schedule. Riders should refer to Sunday route schedule.

“Government: County and city offices will be closed. The Spokane City Council briefing session and legislative meeting will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively in the City Council Chambers in the lower level of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

“Libraries: All Spokane County Library District facilities will be closed Monday and Tuesday (since libraries are normally closed on Mondays, the holiday is observed on Tuesday).

“Banks: Free-standing branches will be closed.

“Liquor stores: Closed.

“Parking meters: Free.

“Garbage: Pickup and curbside recycling will be one day late all week.
