Speaker will address menopause

A speaker who specializes in helping women understand their hormones will discuss health issues during a weekend seminar at the Spokane Valley Community Center.

Jackie Harvey, a mother of seven, will discuss ways that women can deal with hormone loss, said Coleen Smith, a nurse and acupuncturist in the Valley who is helping to bring Harvey to town.

Harvey attempts to show women alternatives to hormone replacement therapy, including supplements and better nutrition, Smith said. Harvey also works to clear up the confusion surrounding menopause and women’s hormone changes, she said.

Harvey will be speaking Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the center, 10814 E. Broadway Ave. The event is free.
