When something works, do it more.

This is the formula Tom and Teresa Capone will be banking on when they open their second Capone’s Pub & Grill in late summer. They opened their first place on Fourth Street in Coeur d’Alene 10 years ago. The new place will be at 315 Ross Point Road, Post Falls. The location previously was, in order, Casey’s, Thornberry’s and Jack’s Pub.

The Capones’ formula for a lively, pleasant, tasty sports/memorabilia pub works. They anticipate no changes except for adding more pasta and salad to the Post Falls menu. The 3,800-square-foot, remodeled place will have 144 seats and about 20 employees.

Originally from Massachusetts and Texas respectively, and then Los Angeles, Tom and Teresa looked over the country for the best place to live for two years and chose North Idaho 15 years ago. Their CdA Capone’s was Ben’s Spudnut in the 1950s and later the Roadrunner Inn.

C.J. Banks opening

Offering quality fashions for work, sports and casual wear for women size 14 and over, C.J. Banks will celebrate its grand opening Friday in Silver Lake Mall. The ribbon-cutting is 10 a.m. in the Sears wing next to Lady Foot Locker.

With its headquarters in Minneapolis, C.J. Banks has 198 stores in 24 states. It’s a division of Christopher & Banks Corp. Manager Carol Hughes has five employees. The store is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 to 6 Sundays.

Beachouse changes

Flavorful shellfish and the customers’ favorite ribs are the emphasis as the Beachouse Restaurant at Silver Beach opens as the Beachouse Ribs & Crab Shack today.

“The new menu is up to 60 percent shellfish,” said Troy Chandler, general manager. “It features a Cajun style, very savory. We’ll continue with our ribs, chicken and steak.”

With hours and seats expanding as the employees and revamped place settle into their changes, the marina restaurant will be open for dinner only (4-11 p.m.) for two weeks, will add lunch on Saturdays and Sundays the first two weeks of June and will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily starting June 15. It will have 37 employees.

Completely non-smoking, the Beachouse will begin with inside seating for 120 customers and gradually expand to the patios with a dockside Corona Bar on the lower deck. Phone 664-6464.

Kootenai Cycle builds

Kootenai Cycle is starting construction on a new facility on Kathleen Avenue between Government Way and Fourth Street. The 12,000-square-foot building, behind D&B Farm & Home, should be done by Oct. 1. It will provide double the space of the present location.

The business features the brand names of Yamaha, Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo and Can-Am for sales, accessories and service of full lines of motorcycles, scooters, ATVs and watercraft. The current facility at 1308 Best Ave. was sold to an investor.

Originally from Texas and Los Angeles respectively, owners Michelle and Shawn Smith discovered North Idaho while on vacation in 1996. They came from Redding, Calif., and bought Kootenai Cycle two years ago. Phone 667-6476.

Duncan Marine open

With plenty of room for its extensive inventory, Duncan Marine is in its new 17,500-square-foot facility at 1094 N. McGuire Road, just north of the old rock church on Seltice Avenue in Post Falls.

With major brand-name boat and outboard sales, service and accessories, the 7-year-old family-operated business is service-oriented, according to Kraig Duncan, co-owner with his wife, Melinda. Originally from Seattle and Fairbanks respectively, they came from Whidbey Island, Wash., to North Idaho to enjoy snowmobiling in 1998.

With five employees, the store is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. It also offers boat storage. Phone 773-2614.

Tidbits

“A large crowd turned out in downtown Coeur d’Alene for ArtWalk last Friday. The event was lively, colorful and fun, with many businesses benefiting by staying open late for the bonus bucks. The fundraising fountains on each corner are a great attraction.

“The Carpet Remnant store at 1001 Best Ave. has closed, and building owner Dennis Spencer is remodeling the 2,500-square-foot former Circle K for sale or lease. This weekend it’s the site of a huge softball team benefit garage sale.
