Inchelium’s Destiny Christiansen and Davenport’s Kayleigh Fisk both pitched two-hitters in Wednesday’s semifinals of the District 7 B tournament at Medical Lake’s Waterfront Park, qualifying their teams to next week’s State B tournament at Yakima.

Christiansen struck out 11 as the Hornets (21-1) ran their winning streak to 17 with a 15-2 semifinal win over Curlew. Chenise Pakootas had four RBIs and Melissa Dick went 3 for 4 for Inchelium.

Fisk struck out 13 and her Gorillas (21-5) scored twice in the sixth inning for a 3-2 semifinal win over Liberty. Jessica Mangis struck out nine for the Lancers (19-7).

Inchelium and Davenport will meet for the district title game at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kettle Falls.

Inchelium is making its second straight trip to state. Davenport last qualified in 2004.

Christiansen also pitched a six-inning no-hitter as the Hornets opened the day with a 10-0 win over Reardan. Serena Condon went 3 for 3 for the Hornets, who stole 16 bases.

Davenport opened the day with a 5-4 win over Springdale, scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh. Fisk went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Katie Brantley was 2 for 2 with two RBIs.

Curlew (18-5) made the semifinals with a 3-1 win over Odessa. Amanda Grumbach struck out nine, walked one and allowed no earned runs. Grumbach tripled to lead off the sixth and scored the go-ahead run on April Barkley’s sacrifice fly.

Odessa (22-3) bounced back on Jennie Harp’s two-hitter in a 3-0 decision that eliminated Reardan (11-13). Harp struck out nine, walked one and tripled in Whitney Frederick in the fifth. Frederick and Marcie Iksic added RBI singles.

Selkirk (17-6) stayed alive with a 7-1 win that ousted Springdale (17-9), the only team to defeat Inchelium this season. Charlie Sharp, Audre Reeves and Molly Larson were a combined 7 for 10 with four RBIs for the Rangers.

Saturday’s winner-to-state, loser-out games at noon are Odessa vs. Liberty and Selkirk vs. Curlew. The winners will play for state seeding at 3:30.
