Prugh All-Pac-10 first team

Ferris High graduate and Washington junior Alex Prugh was named to the All-Pacific-10 Conference first team in golf Friday, while Washington State senior Ryan Witz earned honorable mention.

Arizona State senior Alejandro Canizares and Stanford sophomore Rob Grube were co-players of the year, and UCLA’s O.D. Vincent was named coach of the year.

Track and field

Oregon freshman Rebekah Noble (Rogers High), the collegiate leader in the 800 meters, surpassed her best mark with a time of 2 minutes and 2.85 seconds in the Oregon Twilight track and field meet in Eugene. Noble’s previous best was 2.03.11, which she ran last month at the Pepsi Team Invitational at Hayward.

Baseball

Zach Woodward hit a two-run single with the bases loaded to cap a five-run seventh inning and lead Gonzaga to a 6-1 victory over Pepperdine (31-17, 10-6) to open a three-game West Coast Conference series at Avista Stadium.

Second baseman Scott Campbell was 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Bulldogs (27-19, 8-8), and left-hander Patrick Donovan (North Central) allowed one run in seven innings for his seventh win of the season.

•Washington junior Tim Lincecum struck out 16 in eight innings and set the Pac-10 career mark to lead the 22nd-ranked Huskies (31-17, 9-7) to a 6-4 victory over fifth-ranked Oregon State (32-11, 9-4) in Corvallis, Ore. Lincecum has 460 career strikeouts to surpass the mark of 449, set by USC’s Rik Currier from 1998-2001.

Softball

Wenatchee Valley took advantage of eight unearned runs and held off a seventh-inning rally to defeat Community Colleges of Spokane 14-9 to open an NWAACC Eastern Region doubleheader at Spokane Falls CC.

In the nightcap, Lacey Parry hit a pair of two-run homers to lead second-place CCS to a 9-6 victory over first-place WVCC (28-9, 21-3). Morgan Thomsen had four hits on the day for CCS (26-8, 16-4).

Volleyball

Former Gonzaga University assistant Jerry Wagner has accepted an offer to become the head coach at Montana. Wagner, who spent one year at GU, has also been an assistant at Montana and Montana State.

•Eastern Washington University signed two more recruits to national letters of intent to play next season: middle blocker Hayley Hills (Quensal, British Columbia) and outside hitter Courtney Goodson (Arvada, Colo.).
