Being too Richie and too thin
Nicole Richie, whose drastic weight loss spawned speculation that she has an eating disorder, acknowledges she is “too thin” and is getting treatment to add pounds.
“I know I’m too thin right now, so I wouldn’t want any young girl looking at me and saying, ‘That’s what I want to look like,’ ” the 24-year-old “Simple Life” star tells Vanity Fair.
The 5-foot-1 Richie was visibly heavier in 2003 when she began filming the reality show with then-pal Paris Hilton.
Stress causes her to lose her appetite, she says, and her December split from fiance Adam Goldstein didn’t help matters.
“I had a bad breakup, and it eats me up inside when I’m upset about something,” says Richie, who is dating Goldstein again.
“I tried to put the weight on my way, eating burritos, but that wasn’t working, so I started seeing a nutritionist and a doctor.”
He’s not very convincing
Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston haven’t officially confirmed that they’re a couple, but that didn’t slow down David Letterman.
“Hey, nice going on that Jennifer Aniston thing,” Letterman told Vaughn on Friday’s “Late Night.”
Replied Vaughn: “I’m not saying we are or aren’t a couple. I think she’s great, but I just don’t discuss whether we are.”
Loose lips sink friendships
Denise Richards says she’s no longer friends with Heather Locklear after pictures surfaced of her snuggling with Locklear’s estranged husband, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.
“I wish Heather well,” says Richards, who is seeking a divorce from Charlie Sheen. “Unfortunately, our friendship had to dissolve, and I’m sad about that.”
It should all go swimmingly
David Hasselhoff and estranged wife Pamela Bach have been awarded joint custody of their two daughters.
The former “Baywatch” stars will have alternating weeks with daughters Taylor, 16, and
Hayley,
12, and will alternate custody annually for holidays and birthdays.
A touch of pink for White
It’s a girl for White Stripes frontman Jack White and his wife, model Karen Elson.
The couple welcomed their first child, Scarlett – an apparent reference to his rock band’s red-and-white color scheme – on Tuesday in Tennessee, where they recently bought a new home.

Former reality TV star and Playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith is neither confirming nor denying tabloid reports that she’s pregnant.
“If Anna Nicole is pregnant, she obviously doesn’t want anybody to know yet,” says her attorney, Howard K. Stern (no, not that one).
“If she’s not pregnant, she’s not denying the rumor because she thinks it’s funny how much of a stir it’s causing. She’ll leave it up to you to guess which one it is.”
