District 8 soccer

District 8 4A soccer for Greater Spokane League boys teams begins today with two matches at Spokane Falls Community College.

In the 5 p.m. opener, GSL No. 4 Central Valley plays GSL No. 5 Mt. Spokane. GSL No. 3 Lewis and Clark plays GSL No. 6 University in the 7 p.m. nightcap.

The winners will play Wednesday, prior to the district championship game between regular-season No. 1 Ferris and No. 2 Mead.

The championship game winner advances to the state tournament. The runner-up will play the survivor of Wednesday’s earlier match for the right to continue in the battle for the third state berth from the region comprised of the GSL and Big Nine Conference.
