Get kids ready for the Marmot March

The Spokesman-Review

Oh, when the marmots go marching in…

Want to get the younger set excited about Bloomsday weekend?

Sign them up for the Marmot March, a fun 1.2-mile tour of Riverfront Park designed for first-graders and younger. It’s set for 10 a.m. May 6, the Saturday before the annual Bloomsday run.

The Marmot March is a noncompetitive run/walk (and probably skip, jump, shuffle and all those other happy ways kids move) for kids and their parents. It’s open to the first 300 children who sign up and pay the $10 registration fee (parents participate free with their kids). Kids get a special Marmot March T-shirt and a paint set to personalize their shirt with before the event.

Entry forms can be downloaded from the Bloomsday Web site, www.bloomsdayrun.org (look under the Fit For Bloomsday section). The deadline to register is Friday.
