No primaries for several races
There’s no need for a primary to narrow the field of candidates in many races in Shoshone, Benewah, Bonner and Boundary counties. Lone contenders filed for a lot of positions by Friday’s deadline.
Still, there will be some action. The most exciting may be in Bonner County, where three Republicans will seek the District 1 commission seat and two Republicans filed for the District 3 commission seat.
The winner of each primary will face a Democratic challenger.
In Boundary County, the primary will determine which of three GOP candidates will face off with the lone Democrat in the county treasurer race.
Benewah County’s only county primary runoff is for assessor. Incumbent Teresa Jeffrey’s challenger is fellow Democrat Kathy Tweedy.
