No. 3 Loyola Marymount (17-11) vs. No. 4 Pepperdine (12-16)

Time: Noon.

This season: The teams split a pair of close games with the road team winning.

Keys to the game: Pepperdine mus shoot better than usual, as the Waves did against St. Mary’s and LMU was rebound strong as the Lions did against Portland. The Waves may be hardpressed to contain Ashlee Dunlap, who had 19 points and 15 rebounds in LMU’s win. It will be tougher if center Jasmane Clarendon can’t play or is hobbled after an apparent ankle sprain late in the win over St. Mary’s.

No. 1 Santa Clara (18-10) vs. No. 7 San Francisco (9-19)

Time: 30 minutes after first game

This season: The Broncos won both games but the total margin was 12 points.

Keys to the game: Does Dominique Carter show up for the Dons and will LaShaunte Stephens have another perfect game shooting as they did in splitting 42 points in the upset of Gonzaga? That won’t be enough, though, if USF doesn’t guard the perimeter against the sharp-shooting Broncs. SCU’s Michelle Cozad and super sub Chandice Cronk had more 3’s than the USF team.
