Padres 9, Dodgers 1: At San Diego, Mike Cameron had a three-run homer among his three hits – missing the cycle by a single – to lead the Padres past Los Angeles.

Diamondbacks 2, Giants 1: At Phoenix, Enrique Gonzalez allowed one hit in seven innings and Arizona beat San Francisco to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Astros 9, Cubs 2: At Chicago, Chris Burke went 4 for 4 with five runs scored to match a team record, lifting Houston over the Cubs.

Cardinals 2, Pirates 1: At Pittsburgh, Chris Carpenter allowed three hits and struck out a career-high 13 in seven shutout innings, and Scott Rolen had four hits to lead St. Louis past the Pirates.

Mets 9, Phillies 7: At Philadelphia, David Wright, Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado homered to lead New York over the Phillies.

Marlins 4, Braves 1: At Miami, Josh Johnson pitched six strong innings and had an RBI double to lead Florida over Atlanta.

Brewers 6, Reds 4: At Cincinnati, Geoff Jenkins snapped out of a 6-for-41 slump with two hits and two RBIs and Milwaukee beat the Reds.

Rockies 9, Nationals 2: At Washington, Matt Holliday and Clint Barmes had two-run doubles in a five-run sixth to lead Colorado over the Nationals.
