Red Sox 8, Tigers 3: At Detroit, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez homered and Boston had three bases-loaded walks in a victory over the Tigers. Ortiz walked three times for Boston, which won two of three in the weekend series. Alex Gonzalez and Kevin Youkilis also homered for the Red Sox.

Athletics 5, Twins 1: At Oakland, Calif., Rich Harden struck out six in his first start back from the disabled list, and light-hitting Marco Scutaro got three hits in the Athletics’ victory over Minnesota. Harden, who threw just 79 pitches, hadn’t pitched for the A’s since April 26, when he strained a muscle in his back while trying to field a ball hit back up the middle. He was 3-0 at the time.

Orioles 11, Yankees 4: At Baltimore, Javy Lopez hit two of Baltimore’s four home runs, Rodrigo Lopez won his third straight start, and the Orioles beat New York to avert a three-game sweep. Kevin Millar and rookie Brandon Fahey homered in a five-run third against Aaron Small.

Rangers 10, White Sox 2: At Chicago, Gerald Laird homered twice and drove in a career-high four runs to lead Texas to a victory over the White Sox. Mark Teixeria had four hits and four RBIs for Texas.

Devil Rays 10, Blue Jays 5: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Doug Waechter won for the first time since August and Damon Hollins hit a three-run homer during a five-run fifth inning to help Tampa Bay beat Toronto.

Angels 14, Indians 2: At Cleveland, John Lackey allowed two hits in seven innings, Vladimir Guerrero hit one of three homers off Indians ace C.C. Sabathia and Los Angeles routed the Indians.
