Hillyard Hi-Jinks – The annual festival begins at 11 a.m. Friday at Harmon-Sharpley Park, Market and Bismark, and continues through Sunday. It includes vendors, bingo, carnival games, entertainment and a beer garden. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday; (509) 489-1122.

Spokane Highland Games – The annual Celtic festival will include competitions, entertainment, vendors, historical demonstrations and activities for children, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday at the Spokane Fair and Expo Center, Broadway and Havana. Electric Fun Fly – The Inland Empire Soaring Society invites anyone with an electric model plane to join the Bill Weirauch Memorial flying competition, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Mt. Spokane High School, 6015 E. Mt. Spokane Park Drive. AMA or MAAC membership is required to fly, plus a $5 fee. Spectators are welcome. (509) 292-2690.
