Indians let early lead evaporate in loss to Everett

The Spokesman-Review

EVERETT – The Spokane Indians led early but failed to hang on down the stretch, losing 6-2 to the Everett AquaSox in Northwest League action Sunday afternoon.

Grant Gerrard singled to lead off the third inning for the Indians (15-26) and Chad Tracy followed with a single to left field. Christopher Davis’ two-run double drove in Gerrard and Tracy.

Davis’ double extended his hitting streak to 16 games, a high for an Indians’ batter this season. He is batting .280 for the season.

Everett (19-22) responded in the bottom of the fifth inning by scoring three runs with two outs.

Marci Villezcas doubled, driving in Jair Fernandez and Kevin Reynolds. Dean Zorn singled to score Villezcas and give the AquaSox a lead they never relinquished.

Everett added single runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
