Summer Concert Series – featuring the folk and blues group Deadman’s Pants, 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Coeur d’Alene Park, Second and Chestnut in Browne’s Addition. Neighborhood picnic – COPS Northwest, COPS West and COPS North Central will host the annual event, 2-5 p.m. Saturday at Audubon Park, Northwest Boulevard and A Street. There will be games, prizes, music and free hot dogs; (509) 625-3336.

Hillyard Hi-Jinks – The annual festival begins at 11 a.m. Aug. 4 at Harmon-Sharpley Park, Market and Bismark, and continues through Aug. 6. It includes vendors, bingo, carnival games, entertainment and a beer garden. A parade begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 5; (509) 489-1122.
West Plains Community Fair – The 14th annual event includes exhibits, games, food, animals and a car show Aug. 11-13 at the Cheney Rodeo Grounds on State Route 905; (509) 926-2176.
