Public safety

Thieves have unusual tastes

Odd items have been stolen lately from various Spokane Valley businesses.

Somebody stole the bouncy-ball vending machine from the Rite Aid pharmacy at 1443 N. Argonne Road this week, said Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.

The machine was just inside the door at the pharmacy. The value of the machine and its cache of bouncy balls is unknown, Reagan said.

Also, somebody in the last 30 days stole 15 plastic outhouse waste liners worth $4,500, Reagan said. The liners are designed to hold human excrement.

An employee at CXT Inc. where the liners were stolen, said he could not see a reason why anyone would try to steal the liners.

Anyone with information is asked to call 242-TIPS.
