Brigitte Bardot, angered over what she called France’s insensitivity to the plight of minks, says she might move to Sweden instead.

“To the contrary of (Greta) Garbo, who left Sweden to finish her days in the United States, perhaps I will leave France to finish my days in Sweden, since today, I feel much closer to Swedish sensitivity than to the French insensitivity,” says the former film bombshell.

Bardot, 71, who runs a foundation for animal rights, wrote a letter Wednesday to Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson encouraging his country to push ahead with its proposal to improve conditions for the “millions of unfortunate minks raised for their fur.”

She also contacted the French Finance Ministry to criticize France for attacking Sweden’s proposal for new European Commission rules on conditions for raising minks in Sweden.

“The intervention of my government makes me ashamed, ashamed to be French,” she wrote.

Slim evidence, indeed

The British edition of the National Enquirer has agreed to pay undisclosed damages to Kate Hudson and print an apology for an October 2005 article that claimed she was “way too thin” and looked “like skin and bones.”

The article claimed her mother, Goldie Hawn, planned to confront the 27-year-old actress about her weight – which both denied

Hudson’s lawyer said she lost weight to get in shape for a film after giving birth to her son, Ryder, in January 2004.

We see injured people

Actor Daniel Baldwin was taken to a hospital Wednesday complaining of back and neck pain after his speeding car crashed into two vehicles parked on a Los Angeles street.

Police said Baldwin’s car was traveling about 80 mph, weaving in and out of traffic, before running a red light and hitting the other cars.

And Haley Joel Osment was reported in good condition with a fractured a rib and sore shoulder after hitting a mailbox early Thursday while heading to his L.A. area home.

The 18-year-old actor was nominated for an Oscar for “The Sixth Sense.”

Drive like the wind

Matthew McConaughey is selling a sports car on eBay to raise money for hurricane relief.

The 36-year-old actor is donating all proceeds from the sale of his 1971 Corvette Stingray convertible to Oprah’s Angel Network for Katrina and Rita recovery efforts.

McConaughey says he dubbed the vehicle Mako, like the shark, and has driven it to Mexico and back and many times across Texas, with the top down.

After the first 30 grand, that is

A date with Jessica Biel raised $30,000 at a fundraiser for a Denver teenager who lost her leg in a prom night limousine accident.

Biel, a Boulder, Colo., native, was not at the event. But in an audio message, the 24-year-old actress said: “I promise, I’m a cheap date.”
