People interested in working at the Spokane County Interstate Fair can apply Saturday for one of more than 200 open positions.

An initial job fair was Wednesday.

Saturday’s interviews will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center, 404 N. Havana St., said fair staff assistant Cindy Warner.

The openings usually draw 250 to 300 applicants, about half of whom are returning employees, she said.

Some people take time off from other jobs to work at the fair, which this year runs Sept. 8-17.

“That’s their getaway time,” Warner said. “We have people who are retired and travel and stop in Spokane and do their vacation time.”

Most positions last 10 days and pay the minimum wage of $7.63 per hour.

Applicants are required to show two pieces of government-issued ID.
