Foothills festival today

The Foothills community will be rocking today with the kick-off of the Foothills Family Fun Festival at Foothills Community Church. The list of planned activities seems to go on forever and includes carnival games, a putting green, dunk tank, car show, craft fair, face painting, pony rides, bingo and a bounce house.

The festival also will include live music, food, an obstacle course and a tug-of-war competition. There’s sure to be something for every age and the community is invited. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the church at 11102 N. Forker Road.

Summer fun

Opportunity Presbyterian Church has come up with a cure for the summertime blues for children through the fifth grade. The church will host “Summer Park Play Days” every Wednesday in July and August at Terrace View Park. There will be games, crafts, stories and more each play day from 10 a.m. to noon. The park is at Blake Road and 24th Avenue. Call the church at 924-9750 for more information.

Concert

Bible Baptist Church will be hosting a musical group from Pensacola Christian College in concert Tuesday at 7 p.m. The church is located at 11111 E. 16th Ave.
