Devil Rays 3, Red Sox 0: At St. Petersburg, Fla., All-Star Scott Kazmir pitched a two-hitter for his first career complete game and Tampa Bay beat Boston. Kazmir limited the Red Sox to a third-inning single by Alex Gonzalez until Manny Ramirez led off the ninth with a double to deep center field.

Athletics 5, Tigers 3: At Oakland, Calif., Jay Payton hit his 100th career homer, a three-run shot in the sixth, and Joe Blanton pitched seven strong innings to lead the Athletics to a win over Detroit.

Twins 6, Royals 5: At Kansas City, Mo., Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau homered and Minnesota rallied for its 11th straight victory. Mauer, who leads the majors with a .391 average, homered on an 0-2 pitch from Scott Elarton leading off the sixth.

Indians 5, Yankees 2: At Cleveland, rookie Jeremy Sowers picked up his first career victory, pitching seven strong innings to lead the Indians to a win over New York.

Orioles 8, White Sox 1: At Chicago, Erik Bedard allowed two hits in eight strong innings and Baltimore made the most of three White Sox errors during a four-run sixth inning to beat Chicago.

Rangers 6, Blue Jays 1: At Arlington, Texas, rookie John Rheinecker pitched seven strong innings and Mark DeRosa had three hits and three RBIs to lead Texas to a win over Toronto.
