Suspect arrested in bank robbery
A Spirit Lake man has been arrested in the robbery of a Bank of America branch in Hayden.
Rickey Allen Fisher, 26, was arrested Thursday night while working at the Coeur d’Alene Casino, said Don Robinson, supervising agent of the Coeur d’Alene FBI office.
Fisher previously has been convicted of possession of a controlled substance, grand theft, dispensing alcohol to a minor and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Court records indicate that Fisher has more than $5,600 in fines that are overdue.
The robbery occurred about 9 a.m. Thursday when a man handed a teller a note demanding “all of the 100s 50s 20s and 10s,” according to an FBI press release. The robber lifted his shirt to show what appeared to be a handgun in the waistband of his pants, said Kootenai County sheriff’s Capt. Ben Wolfinger.
Fisher faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted of bank robbery.

Wasden will head national association
Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden was named president-elect of the National Association of Attorneys General, during the association’s annual summer meeting this week in Coeur d’Alene.
The 100-year-old association is headed this year by Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker. Wasden, as president-elect, is scheduled to take over as president in June of 2007.
The national association includes the attorneys general of all 50 states, plus the chief legal officers of American territories and the District of Columbia.
Wasden has been Idaho’s attorney general for the past four years and is seeking re-election in November to a second term. He faces Democrat Bob Wallace, a Boise attorney.
Also during the Coeur d’Alene meeting, Deputy Idaho Attorney General Brett DeLange was honored with the association’s annual Laurie Loveland Award for his work on tobacco-related issues, including representing the states in national negotiations with tobacco companies.
