Curlew slips past game Kettle Falls
Nichole Miller scored 14 points and Kyanne Somday added 12 as Curlew escaped with a 55-53 victory over host Kettle Falls in a non-league game Tuesday night.
Tori Tracy scored 14 points to lead Kettle Falls, including a 3-pointer with 10 seconds left to bring the Bulldogs within two points after trailing by nine to open the fourth quarter.
Amanda Grumbach added 10 points for the Cougars (9-2), who had 31 turnovers. Cassie Douse had 13 points, and Katie Lipp added nine points and nine rebounds for the Bulldogs (4-9).
In other non-league action, Jessie DePell scored 32 points on 13-of-16 shooting as Freeman defeated host Medical Lake 69-45. Carley Heinen added 20 points for the Scotties (10-1). Lyra Reese and Richelle Daily scored 12 apiece to lead the Cardinals (5-3). … Lauren Mellor had 18 points and 10 rebounds as Colfax cruised to a 67-52 victory over visiting Warden. Kylie Shaw added 11 points and four steals for the Bulldogs (9-3), who led 37-16 at halftime. … Karrie Smith had 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting as the Chewelah JV defeated host Northport 60-30. Kaprina Goodwin scored 19 to lead Northport (1-10).
•Kia Gibson had 21 points and 10 rebounds as Lakeside defeated visiting Riverside 57-29 in a Great Northern League game at Nine Mile Falls. Kelsey Stillar added 16 points and Courtney Galvin 13 for the Eagles (7-4, 3-0), who outscored the Rams by eight points in the third quarter and nine in the fourth. Sarah Robinson scored eight to lead Riverside (5-4, 1-1).
•Alyssa Koller scored a career-high 37 points, including 18 in the fourth quarter, as LaCrosse-Washtucna (8-4, 4-1) defeated host Colton 76-71 in a Whitman County League game.
