RIVER RUNNING

What: Get ready for the big river runoff from all that snow piling up in the mountains. A seminar on whitewater safety will be conducted by certified swiftwater rescue instructors of the Northwest Whitewater Association. Learn how to right flipped boats, use rescue ropes and hardware and read water hydraulics.

When, where: Next Sunday, 9 a.m., at the YMCA in Mirabeau Point.
