Second wind

Tucker Seitz Senior, Central Valley

Standing at the summit

Snow filling the sky

Glassing the mountains beyond

Looking for God’s Creatures that rule the mountain tops

Amazed at the beauty

Seeing what the Creator has done,

From dawn to dusk, in search of Elk

Majestic, discrete Beast.

Stepping into the open meadow

Snow up to your knees

Everything white except for the dark patch just beyond the trees.

Kneeling down, looking through the scope,

The patch begins to move.

After long hours of trudging through the snow,

Now there is reason for hope.
