The Spokesman-Review

Visiting University outscored Central Valley 38-7 during the middle two quarters en route to a 74-29 Greater Spokane League girls basketball victory Thursday night.

The win moved the Titans (8-1) to within one-half game of idle Lewis and Clark.

The Titans led just 21-15 following Justine Bowman’s 3-pointer for CV that opened the second quarter.

Then Angie Bjorklund scored six straight points and hit a 3-pointer that finished off a quarter-ending, 10-point run.

Bjorklund had 19 points by intermission and finished with 23, her work done in the third quarter.

Six different Titans scored in that quarter when U-Hi went on a 22-2 run.

U-Hi’s Dara Zack scored eight points in each half. Foul-plagued Bowman finished with 11 for CV (3-5).

Mead 61, East Valley 34: The Panthers (6-2) had 19 steals against the visiting Knights (4-4) to remain third in the GSL at the holiday break.
